NEXT STEPS
Growing our faith in Jesus is a journey. We are all on the same path, but the journey may look different for each of us. No matter where you are, there’s a next step that you can take!
Next Steps is designed to equip you with the tools to grow your relationship with Jesus and become a part of our Church family. From discovering the vision of Generations Church to serving in life-giving ministry, we will lead you step-by-step down a path to experience both growth and fulfillment.
1. Find Jesus
BELIEVE IN HIM FOR NEW LIFE
Have you found Jesus yet? We are all born separated from God because of sin. But we can receive the gift of life by believing in Jesus. The moment we believe that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and offers us life that never ends, we are saved. Saying yes to Jesus is the best decision you will ever make—one that will change your life forever!
Check out the More Info tab to find out how you can invite Jesus into your life. We also have some free resources to help you walk out your new faith. Our “What Now” and “Gospel of John” booklets can be found in the materials display located in the worship center foyer or at the guest services desk. You can also email your information to info@gctlh.org and we will send you these resources in the mail.
2. Water Baptism
GO PUBLIC WITH YOUR FAITH
Jesus Himself was baptized as an example for us (Matthew 3:16-19) and He commands all believers to be baptized (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward decision to repent and believe in Jesus. Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It is a visual picture that we have died to an old way of life without Jesus and are alive to a new life in Christ. It demonstrates that Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again, giving us the hope and promise of eternal life in Him. (Romans 6:3-9 and Ephesians 4:4-6)
If you have believed in Jesus and are interested in publicly proclaiming being made new in Him, we hope you will join us at one of our baptism celebration services. We have several baptisms throughout the year. You can sign up online on our website events page or by selecting the I Want To Be Baptized tab below. We would love for you to take that next step in your new found faith with Christ.

If you answered Yes to any of the questions above, we’d love to connect with you! Next Steps Class is a great way to learn more about our church and how you can get involved.
Next Steps Class guides you to discover your redemptive purpose and live the life God created for you. Next Steps is a 4 week class that equips you to follow Jesus, grow in your faith, connect to the church, discover your purpose, and serve others.
We offer our Next steps class several times a year on Sunday mornings before service. To sign up for our upcoming Next Steps Class or for more information, select the Next Steps tab below.
4. Join a Small Group
DON’T DO LIFE ALONE
God designed us for community! Connect Groups are a great way to meet new people and grow in our faith together. We offer small groups in a variety of types and locations; this includes small groups, Bible studies, and specialty groups for various seasons of life. When we choose to grow in relationship and to explore Biblical truth together, in a group setting, we can experience life change!
Our Connect Groups are available during the fall and winter semesters and meet at various times throughout the week in-person and virtually through zoom. Check out what small groups we have available and sign up for the group of your choice by selecting the Connect Groups tab below. 5. Find a Place to Serve
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
We were created to make a difference! When we give generously of our time in the local church, it makes a difference in others. Join a serve team and discover ways to use your time, talent and gifts to influence others to find and follow Jesus. Plus, joining a team is a great way to get connected! Whether you’re a people person or prefer to be behind the scenes, we have a spot for you.

To get started on a serve team, complete the volunteer application below and return it to the church office. Our office will contact you and get you plugged in to the ministry of your choice.
